Philip got his start in music by playing bass in Texas rock bands Gollum and Scary Manilow. He was the original bass player in When Words Attack and was awarded best bassist in The Edge Magazine's Best of 2005 Reader's Poll Awards. Phil soon opted for drums after growing weary of losing drummers as well as developing a passion for drumming during his downtime.
